Wonderful
I've stayed at the waterfront hotel twice now, and it has become my favorite whenever i go to kuching. I love their location (mall is right next to it with close proximity to the waterfront). I also love their breakfast spread, room size and general ambience.
I think the housekeeping can improve a bit more by more thoroughly celan the room daily and top up the shower gel.

It was a pleasant stay but just a little bump
The breakfast spread and the staff, good hospitality especially at the breakfast due to I cant carry hot beverages so the staff helps me to carry them. It is also close to Plaza Merdeka, so you do have grocery stores and other essentials nearby
There was a water disruption during our stay, around 10pm suddenly there was no water in our room.

Still a good place to stay at ... but could be better!
This is the third time we have stayed at the Waterfront Hotel, Kuching, in less than a year. So, inevitably, some issues will be repeated … which also shows that feedback is not always taken into account  · Positives (1) The Waterfront Hotel, Kuching has a good location in terms of eateries and attractions. (2) The service while you are on-site is excellent. (3) The rooms are very comfortable. Some rooms offer excellent views of the Sarawak River and its surrounding areas. (I am starting my "negatives" here because what I have to share exceeds the stipulated 2,000 characters) · Negatives (1) The free Wi-Fi is very slow and frustrating. This is a major concern for us. (2) Pre-visit communication with the hotel is non-existent: this is the second time it has happened. Both times, I had to communicate via booking.com, which was not satisfactory. Each time I sent a message to booking.com, I received a response from a different booking.com staff. I ended up repeating the background and my query with each message – that is very wasteful of time. When I was finally at the hotel and raised the issues personally, I was asked if I had communicated with the hotel. My response was that my communication with the hotel has been constantly ignored.
· Negatives (continued from above) (3) The room door was not shut when we arrived at the room. Is there a security issue? (4) We were supplied with only bath towels. There were no hand and face towels. When I asked the Housekeeping staff outside the room, they said that they would deliver them to the room. However, after we had left the room and hotel and returned after almost two hours, the towels had still not been delivered. I stood by the Housekeeping cart till I was given hand towels. There were still no face towels, even on the second day. Has the policy regarding towels changed? (5) I learnt when I checked out at the end of this holiday that the hotel management has apparently changed its policy to include breakfast as part of the room rate. I am not sure why this has been done, but I dislike this policy for several reasons: (a) I eat lightly for breakfast; my son generally does not eat breakfast. (b) I would prefer local food and I would like to be able to choose/decide what I would like to eat each day. (c) Breakfast – especially buffet – generally ends latest at 10.00 am, and choices of food could be much reduced by around 9.30 am. This means that I have to get up early in order to be able to eat breakfast at the hotel. Having to get up early sounds very much like a typical work-day to me. I prefer to be able to get up later – around 9.30 am – while I am on holiday. (d) While on holiday, I do not like my time and activities dictated by others – I am an independent traveller, often travelling solo. (6) I really wish something can be done to the toilet seat – I do not like my flesh contacting the rim of the toilet bowl.
